Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. I am having this problem on multiple machines. There is no com port section in the device manager. I have updated drivers, tried different connectors etc. Select Run as administrator. Now if you expand the section on COM ports, all the COM ports that have ever been created will be displayed, the non present ones being in grey.
